Spirituality of Illness A lecture by Nancy Trottner. The experience of being seriously or chronically ill impacts us in multiple ways. Our relationships, our priorities, our beliefs all begin to be called into question. Such a time is often a turning point. It can become an opportunity to live more deeply. This workshop will provide several approaches (story, art, myth, dreams) for exploring deeper meanings as we live with illness. Nancy is a psychotherapist, spiritual director, Reiki practitioner and dream worker with expertise as a Hospice nurse, in pastoral care, and private practice as a spiritual mid-wife. In this approach, energy medicine techniques are combined with spiritual training in order to promote healing and enrichment of body, mind, and spirit. At the heart of our activities is the beautiful philosophy of Kardec Spiritism with its message of compassion, love, and service. Resident and guest workshops provide a compelling array of opportunities for personal growth, and our weekly gathering and special events provide opportunities for building friendships and community.
