The Caritas Spiritist Center follows a 150-year healing tradition as practiced by Kardec Spiritist Healers in Brazil, in which energy medicine techniques are combined with studies in psychospiritual and metaphysical subjects in order to promote the highest level of healing and awareness of body, mind, and spirit. In addition, by applying the Kardec Spiritist philosophy of compassionate service as a vehicle for personal growth, the Caritas community emphasizes the benefits of helping others. As witness to this philosophy, Caritas healers, upon completion of the center’s training course in energy medicine, anatomy/physiology, and spiritual awareness, volunteer their services in the center’s free healing clinic.
The center opened its doors in November 2003, following a weeklong series of healing workshops, healing sessions and weekend seminar on Kardec Spiritist philosophy given by a visiting Brazilian healer. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity.
Our Mission
At Caritas, our mission is threefold:
• To promote the highest level of healing and awareness of body, mind, and spirit, by means of energy medicine and psychospiritual training
• To introduce Kardec Spiritist philosophy, a philosophy of compassion, love, and service based in metaphysical science, through workshops, ongoing classes, and study groups
• To further the integration of energy medicine with other forms of medicine, both conventional and alternative, through working in affiliation with other health professionals, and through research
Activities
• Healing: Healing sessions, which include psychospiritual counseling, are given by appointment, free of charge.
• Education: Training classes are offered in the Kardec Spiritist Healing modality and in Anatomy/Physiology. Study groups are also offered, in which participants read and discuss books on spiritual and psychospiritual subjects including Kardec Spiritist philosophy and metaphysical science.
• Weekly Gathering: The free weekly gathering on Mondays, 6-7pm, is open to the public and consists of a speaker giving a talk on a spiritual topic, followed by discussion. Those who would like to meet privately with one of the spiritual counselors or healers may do so after the discussion. The gathering is also an opportunity for socialization, with refreshments offered following the program.
Additionally, the center frequently hosts special events: resident and guest lectures/workshops given on topics related to healing and personal/spiritual growth. Although healing classes and study groups at the center are offered on a donation basis, charges for resident and guest lectures/workshops are at the discretion of the instructor. Caritas is fortunate to be located in the Boulder community, which has many talented professionals in these fields.
Guest
lectures/workshops serve several functions:
1. Educational benefits to the community
2. A significant venue for practitioners to present their work and increase
client base.
3.
An opportunity for networking and promoting affiliations between Caritas and
local health practitioners
• Integrative Medicine: By creating affiliations with other
healing and medical practitioners, as well as maintaining ongoing documentation
of healing sessions and their results, Caritas promotes the integration of
energy medicine with other forms of healing.
